Field of research

To address difficult challenges of both national and international importance, the „Constantin Angelescu” Institute for Advanced Interdisciplinary study is conducting research at the interface between significant domains of knowledge. Researchers from the exact, natural, social, humanities, and technical fields are brought together in research units as part of our highly multidisciplinary approach.

The institute’s strategic directions are structured around six major areas:

  • Life Sciences and Integrative Health – research in biology, medicine, psychology, public health and biotechnology, with a focus on human-environment-society interconnections.
  • Global Change, Climate and Natural Resources – studies on the environment, agriculture, sustainable development and the socio-economic impact of ecological crises.
  • Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Digital Transformation – development and analysis of responsible digital solutions in education, economy, health and administration.
  • Education, Cognition and Cultural memory – research in the field of learning, the impact of technology on training and values.
  • Advanced Technologies and Transdisciplinary Innovation – new materials, engineering, robotics, renewable energy and applied technological solutions.
  • Public Policy, Ethics and Scientific Governance – interdisciplinary analysis of decisions, regulations, social equity and the ethics of innovation.
  • Cultural and scientific diplomacy
